The iOS 16 is an operating system that was designed and developed especially for iPhone by Apple in 2021. The system has been released on September 12, 2022, and was preinstalled on the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. This software gets the latest update (16.3) on January 23, 2023.
iOS 16 features an all-new Lock Screen. From now it’s possible to personalize the Lock Screen by showcasing favorite photos, customizing font styles, or displaying widgets. New Lock Screen comes with new Notifications and pop-up windows and live widgets from apps like Music, Uber, and more.
In iOS 16 changes comes to Focus mode as well. From now user can activate Focus mode by switching to the corresponding Lock Screen.
The messages app gets a big update in this iOS release. From now users can edit or unsend a message for up to 15 minutes after sending it. From now it’s possible to mark the message as unread to make it easy to come back to a conversation later.
The Mail app same to Messages features the Unsend option which allows canceling delivery of an email within 10 seconds of hitting send. Now possible is to schedule and for sending an email on a specific day and time.
The collaboration feature allows across the system to collaborate with others in native apps. For instance in Safari, users can share the Tab Groups and work on them together using SharePlay or iMessage.
Passkeys are another novelty in iOS 16. Passkeys offer support for an easier and safer sign-in method to replace passwords.
Live Text from now support video. From now users can interact with text in a paused video frame by copying, translating, lookup, sharing, and more. In Photos app has been built-in Visual Look Up feature which lifts the subject from the background and isolates the subject of an image. That allows you to copy and paste it into apps like Mail or Messages.
The maps app now supports multi-stop routing, transit fares, and transit cards. Wallet app together with Apple Pay allows keeping all the information about your order in one place such as receipt or order tracking information.
