The iPhone 13 mini is a smartphone that was designed, manufactured, and currently sold by Apple since 2021 as part of the iPhone series. This iPhone has been introduced on September 14, 2021, released on September 24, 2021, and its price started at $699.
The all-new iPhone mini features a Six-Core 64-bit 3.2 GHz Apple A15 Bionic processor with Quad-Core graphics, Apple M15 motion coprocessor, 5.4″ Super Retina XDR OLED Display, GPS, 5G data capability, dual-SIM support through a nano-SIM, and an eSIM (Apple SIM), five colors; Midnight, Starlight, Blue, Pink, and (PRODUCT) RED, 128 GB / 256 GB or 512 GB of flash memory, 4 GB of RAM, Wi-Fi 6 – 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC for Apple Pay, Lightning port, nano-SIM slot, Dual 12 Mpix Wide and Ultra-Wide rear camera system with Cinematic Mode / 12 Mpix front camera with TrueDepth camera system for facial recognition called Face ID, three-axis gyro, accelerometer, Barometer, Qi and MagSafe inductive charging, and IP68 for water resistance and dust resistance.
The iPhone 13 mini design is nearly identical to the iPhone 12 mini. The new smartphone has a flat chassis analogous to that of Apple’s recent products, but there are some differences such as larger rear cameras arranged diagonally.
The TrueDepth camera system used for Touch ID is now 20% smaller when compared to its predecessors. The iPhone is available in five new colors: Starlight, Midnight, Pink, (PRODUCT) RED, and Blue. The Blue, Midnight, and Starlight colors are not the same as the Blue, Black, and Silver we know from iPhone 12.
The iPhone 13 mini is using an Apple A15 Bionic chip. The Apple A15 features a 6-Core CPU, 4-Core GPU, and 16-Core Neural Engine, while the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max feature a 5-Core GPU.
iPhone 13 mini features a 5.4-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, a pixel density of 476 ppi, and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The new Super Retina XDR display is covered by Ceramic Shield, fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating, and features higher typical maximum brightness.
On March 8, 2022, iPhone 13 mini in Green color was introduced for the same price.
On September 7, 2022, Apple introduced the new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, but iPhone 13 mini is still available in Apple Store. Surprisingly Apple decided to discontinue the development of the iPhone mini series.
Today iPhone 13 mini is 20 months old!
