watchOS 7 is an operating system that was designed, developed by Apple since 2020 and was preinstalled on the new Apple Watches and as an update through the iPhone for the previous series. The system has been released on 16 September 2020 and gets the latest update (7.3) on 26 January 2021.
watchOS 7 features a Sleep Tracking for measuring sleep in a new way, has been added new alarm sounds and haptics, Wind Down mode, Reminders and Wake up screen, a Handwashing detection functionality with 20 seconds timer and a reminder to do handwash when arriving home, new Workouts in Activity app, new Cycling Directions in Maps app, Siri improvements and Translation support for 10 languages, Privacy changes, Family Setup for family members Apple Watches that do not have their own iPhone, Schooltime mode, upgraded Watch Faces and Watch Face Sharing, and many more.
This version of watchOS drops support for the Apple Watch Series 1 and Series 2. However, Apple Watch Series 3 gets limited support witch means some features are not available on this watch.
