History of Macintosh Quadra

The Macintosh Quadra computer series replaced the Macintosh II series and Macintosh Centris line. Macintosh Quadra was a line of mid-range and high-end Macs with a variety of mini-tower and low-profile desktop units with high-performance specifications dedicated to professional users.

The Macintosh Quadra series is a family of personal computers designed, manufactured, and sold by Apple from 1991 to 1995. Macintosh Quadra later has been succeeded by the new line of Macintosh called Power Macintosh.

What happened with Macintosh Quadra Series?

The Macintosh Quadra series was on the market for 4 years. In March 1994, Apple has announced the Power Macintosh series which immediately replaced some of the Macintosh Quadra models. Worth noting is that the Quadra line was slowly replaced by Macintosh Performa as well. On October 5, 1995, Apple entirely discontinued the Quadra series in favor of the Power Mac.
