macOS 13 Ventura is an operating system that’s been designed and developed by Apple since 2022 alongside Apple’s personal computers. It’s been released on October 24, 2022, and has become available as a Free Update, or is preinstalled on currently sold computers. This software gets the latest update (13.2) on January 23, 2023.
macOS Ventura Features
macOS Ventura comes with new capabilities such as Continuity Camera, Stage Manager, Passkeys, improvements in the Mail app, Messages app, FaceTime app, iCloud service, Spotlight, and Live Text. This version of macOS now comes with redesigned System Settings, new accessibility tools, stronger security, and new apps from the iPhone such as Weather and Clock.
macOS 13 features an all-new powerful multitasking experience called Center Stage. Center Stage is a feature that automatically organizes apps and windows on the screen and quickly allows users to switch between apps.
The Continuity Camera feature allows using the main iPhone camera as a webcam on Mac. When iPhone is nearby, Mac can automatically connect and offer a better quality videoconference experience. Continuity Camera comes with Desk View, Center Stage, Portrait, and Studio Light. Desk View enables showing users’ their desk and face at the same time.
The messages app gets a big update in this iPadOS release. From now users can edit or unsend a message for up to 15 minutes after sending it. From now it’s possible to mark the message as unread to make it easy to come back to a conversation later.
The Mail app same as Messages features the Unsend option which allows canceling delivery of an email within 10 seconds of hitting send. Now possible is to schedule and for sending an email on a specific day and time.
The collaboration feature allows across the system to collaborate with others in native apps. For instance in Safari, users can share the Tab Groups and work on them together using SharePlay or iMessage.
Passkeys are another novelty in macOS 13 same as in iOS 16 and iPadOS 16. Passkeys offer support for an easier and safer sign-in method to replace passwords.
Live Text from now support video. From now users can interact with text in a paused video frame by copying, translating, lookup, sharing, and more. In Photos app has been built-in Visual Look Up feature which lifts the subject from the background and isolates the subject of an image. That allows you to copy and paste it into apps like Mail or Messages.
