The Apple iMac Pro (iMac Pro 2017) is a personal computer that was designed, manufactured, and sold by Apple from 2017 to 2021 as part of the iMac series. The computer has been introduced on June 5, 2017, released on December 14, 2017, and its price started at $4999.
The all-new iMac Pro features a 3.2 GHz / 3.0 GHz / 2.5 GHz or 2.3 GHz Intel Xeon W processor, 32 / 64 GB or 128 GB of RAM, 27-inch Retina 5K LED-backlit IPS LCD Display, 1 TB flash drive memory, Ambient Light Sensor, FaceTime HD camera, four Thunderbolt 3 ports, four USB 3.0 ports, an SDXD card slot, and 8 GB AMD Radeon Pro Vega 56 graphics in the base model.
The new iMac Pro includes an 8-, 10-, 14-, or 18-core Intel Xeon processor, 5K Display, AMD Vega graphics, ECC memory, and 10 Gigabit Ethernet. It includes a custom Apple T2 chip to store encrypted keys and a custom version of macOS that allows the user to lock down the booting process.
The iMac Pro’s chassis is carried over from the 27-inch iMac introduced in 2012 but is only available in a darker “Space Gray” finish. Unlike the white accessories that come with the iMac, the iMac Pro comes with a Space Gray Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad, and a Space Gray Magic Mouse 2 or Magic Trackpad 2.
On March 19, 2019, were added options for 256 GB of memory and an AMD Vega 64X GPU.
On August 4, 2020, Apple discontinued the 8-core model and made the 10-core model, previously an upgrade option, the base model.
This iMac has been discontinued on March 5, 2021.
Today iMac Pro is 7 years old!
