watchOS 5 is an operating system that was designed, developed by Apple in 2018, and was preinstalled on the new Apple Watches and as an update through the iPhone for the previous series. The system has been released on September 17, 2018, and gets the last update (5.3.9) on November 5, 2020, and has been replaced by a newer version of watchOS 6.
watchOS 5 features a new Podcast app, Do Not Disturb mode, Student ID Cards, all-new Notifications, Siri improvements and integrations, Walkie-Talkie app, and major updates in the Workout app.
This version of watchOS drops support for the 1st generation of Apple Watch.
