The Apple MacBook Pro 17-inch Late 2007 is a notebook computer that was part of Apple’s MacBook Pro lineup, manufactured and sold from 2007 to 2008. It was introduced on November 1, 2007, with an initial price starting at $3,049.

The Apple MacBook Pro “Core 2 Duo” 2.4 17-inch features a 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo processor, comprising two independent processor cores, a 4 MB shared on-chip level 2 cache, an 800 MHz frontside bus, 2.0 GB of 667 MHz PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM, and a 160 GB (5400 RPM) hard drive equipped with “Sudden Motion Sensor” technology. It is also equipped with an 8X dual-layer DVD RW/CD-RW SuperDrive.

The MacBook Pro boasts an NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics processor with 256 MB of GDDR3 SDRAM and dual-link DVI functionality. Its display is a 17″ widescreen matte or glossy CCFL-backlit 1680×1050 TFT active-matrix display. A higher-resolution 1920×1200 display was also available by custom configuration.

Externally, the MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.4 17-inch Late 2007 resembles its predecessor, the MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.33 17″, with features such as the ambient light sensor, scrolling TrackPad, MagSafe power connector, integrated iSight video camera, and included Apple Remote. Connectivity options include an ExpressCard/34 slot, AirPort Extreme (with support for 802.11n in the Late 2007 model), Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, Gigabit Ethernet, FireWire 400 port, FireWire 800 port, three USB 2.0 ports, optical digital audio in/out, and DVI out.

Starting November 1, 2007, Apple offered a custom configuration option with a 2.6 GHz Core 2 Duo processor for an additional $250.

The MacBook Pro 17-inch Late 2007 model was discontinued on February 26, 2008. As of today, the MacBook Pro 17-inch Late 2007 is 16 years old.
