The system has been released on May 21, 2001, and was available for $499 or was preinstalled on currently sold server computers. This software gets the last update (10.0.4) on June 3, 2001, and later has been replaced by a newer version of Mac OS X Server 10.1 Puma.
Mac OS X Server 10.0 Cheetah is based on the main version of Mac OS X 10.0 Cheetah which was introduced inter alia the new Aqua user interface. The server version of the Cheetah obviously offers special features such as Apache, NetBoot, WebDev Support, PHP, MySQL, Tomcat, or Macintosh Manager.
