Mac OS X Public Beta

Mac OS X Public Beta is an operating system that was designed and developed by Apple in 2000 and was a long-waited next-generation Mac operating system. The system has been released on September 13, 2000, and was available for $29.95.

Mac OS X Public Beta was a public preview version of the future shape of Mac OS X in order to gain users’ feedback. It allowed software developers and early adopters to test a preview of the upcoming operating system and develop software for the forthcoming operating system before its final release.

This version of Mac OS X features a new Aqua user interface, an all-new dock, and many enhancements and improvements.

On March 24, 2001, this Mac OS has been replaced by a final version of Mac OS X 10.0 Cheetah.

Today Mac OS X Public Beta is 22 years old!
