The Macintosh SE is a personal computer that was designed, manufactured, and sold by Apple from 1987 to 1989 as part of the Macintosh series. The new Macintosh computer has been introduced on March 2, 1987, and its price started at $2898.
The new Macintosh features an 8 MHz Motorola 68000 processor, 9″ monochrome display, 1 MB or 2 MB of RAM, 20 MB or 40 MB hard drive one or two 800 KB floppy disk drives, and a dedicated operating system: Macintosh System Software.
This computer has been discontinued on August 1, 1989, and has been replaced by Macintosh SE FDHD.
