The new Macintosh computer has been introduced on August 1, 1989 and its price started at $3900. The new Macintosh features an 8 MHz Motorola 68000 processor, 9″ monochrome display, 1 MB or 2 MB of RAM, 20 MB or 40 MB hard drive, one or two 1.44 MB floppy disk drives, and a dedicated operating system: System Software. The product has been discontinued on October 15, 1990.
