The Apple Macintosh Portable is the first notebook that was designed, manufactured, and sold by Apple from 1989 to 1991 as part of the Macintosh computers. The computer has been introduced on September 20, 1989 and its price started at $6500. The new Macintosh Portable features a 16 MHz Motorola 68000 processor, 9.8″ monochrome LCD display, 1 MB / 2 MB or 4 MB of RAM, 40 MB hard drive, and 1.44 MB floppy drive. This Macintosh has been discontinued on October 21, 1991.
