The new Macintosh features an 8 MHz Motorola 68000 processor, 9″ monochrome display, 512 KB of RAM, 400 KB floppy disk drive, and a dedicated operating system: Macintosh System Software.
This computer has been discontinued on April 14, 1986, and has been replaced by Macintosh 512Ke.
