In the late 80s, Apple introduced a new printer to the market: the LaserWriter IISC. This printer was a part of Apple’s Printer series and was available for purchase from 1988 to 1990.
The LaserWriter II was first made available on January 1, 1988, with a starting price of $2,799. This new printer featured a 7.45 MHz Motorola 68000 processor, 16 KB of ROM, the ability to print in one color, a resolution of up to 300 dpi, and a fast printing speed of 8 pages per minute. Additionally, it also had a SCSI connection port for added connectivity options.
Despite its impressive capabilities, the LaserWriter IISC was eventually discontinued on July 1, 1990. Now, 35 years later, the LaserWriter IISC is a relic of the past, but it serves as a reminder of the advancements made in technology during that time.
