The Apple AirPort Extreme 802.11ac (6th Generation) is a wireless router that was designed, manufactured, and sold by Apple from 2013 to 2018 as part of the AirPort Extreme series. The router has been introduced on June 10, 2013, and its price started at $199.
The new AirPort Extreme features a Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000BASE-T), maximum speed has been increased up to 1.3 Gbps, compatibility with 802.11a/b/g/n/ac protocols, guest networking, three LAN ports, the possibility to connect up to 50 devices, and Dual-band operation on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz simultaneously.
Time Machine was now supported using an external USB hard drive connected to AirPort Extreme (802.11ac model only).
This AirPort Extreme has been discontinued on April 27, 2018.
